Bearhugs

I found you wandering outside in the cold
You said you’re helpless, darkness unfolds
your clothes were torn, and wounded your soul
Your trust was forlorn, abandoned at all

And so I hold you, like I told you
Always open are my arms
The strongest bearhugs cannot heal you
But surely keep you safe and warm

Take my hand, I said, I bare the burdon
And I will carry you, no matter how long
When all hope is gone, and silence has grown
Take my heart instead, ‚til you found your own

If only I could make things so easy
Just snap with my fingers and everythings fine
I’d do what it takes just to make you believe me
There’s always a reason to live, all the time

And so I hold you, like I told you
Always open are my arms
The strongest bearhugs cannot heal you
But surely keep you safe and warm

And so I hold you, like I told you
Always open are my arms
The strongest bearhugs cannot heal you
But surely keep you safe and warm

Strong as a bear, and yet, weak as a mouse
still there are sorrows as big as a house
and still there are stories my heart cannot tell
sometimes I’m in need of bearhugs myself
